A delegation led by U Thant Kyaw, Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), participated in the seminar entitled “Laos–Myanmar: 70 Years of Friendship and Cooperation- Reflecting on the Past, Shaping Our Shared Future”, jointly organised by MISIS and the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) of Laos in Vientiane on 28 November 2025. The event was held as part of the commemorative activities marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and Laos.

Subsequently, on 1 December 2025, the MISIS delegation met with the officials from the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) in Bangkok, Thailand. During the meeting, both sides discussed matters related to developing academic activities and joint research papers between two institutions and signed the Working Protocol for further collaboration.
