Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation with the Institute of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vientiane on 7 November 2024.

H.E. U Aung Ko, Myanmar Ambassador to the Lao PDR and officials from Myanmar Embassy, Vientiane together with H.E. Mr. Bounleua Phandanouvong, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Vithaya Xayavong, Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and senior officials from various Departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR attended the MOU signing ceremony.

The signing of the MOU symbolized mutual respect and trust, serving as a platform to fostering deeper collaboration between two institutions. Moreover, this MOU will pave ways to promote collaboration amongst scholars, practitioners and ex-diplomats in conducting joint research, informed analysis, scholarly cooperation, sharing relevant publications and dialogue in better understanding the regional and global issues of common interests and geopolitics.
