Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies Delegation led by its Chairman Attended the 6th Myanmar-China Think Tank Forum

The 6th Myanmar-China Think Tank Forum was held on 22 October 2025 in Mangshi, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China, under the theme “Strengthening Myanmar-China Cooperation in the Field of People’s Livelihood: Building a Myanmar-China Community with a Shared Future.” The forum was organized under the auspices of the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences. An eleven-member delegation led by Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), attended the forum.

At the opening ceremony, the MISIS Chairman delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting the enduring Paukphaw friendship as the cornerstone of the 75 years of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations. He underscored the importance of cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC). He also welcomed China’s Global Governance Initiative, emphasizing the need for joint efforts in green development, digital innovation, and human resource advancement to build a sustainable and shared future between the two nations. He reaffirmed Myanmar’s steadfast commitment to peace, stability, and inclusive development, noting the upcoming 2025 General Election as an important milestone towards national unity and prosperity.

MISIS delegation members actively participated in discussions and exchanged views during the sessions focusing on strengthening bilateral people-to-people connectivity to deepen Paukphaw Friendship and enhancing bilateral economic and trade cooperation to promote the Myanmar-China community with a shared future.

The Myanmar-China Think Tank Forum, held annually, serves as an important platform to deepen bilateral friendship and enhance people-to-people connectivity in areas such as education, health, tourism, sports, and other fields contributing to mutual understanding and cooperation.
